Orlando Orthopaedic Center is proud to announce Randy S. Schwartzberg, M.D., has been named the Jack C. Hughston, M.D., Sports Medicine Person of Year from the Southeast Athletic Training Association (SEATA).

The annual award is presented to the physician that has contributed the most to SEATA and athletic training as a profession in the region. This is the highest honor available from SEATA for professionals outside the athletic training specialty.

Since beginning his practice, Dr. Schwartzberg has worked with many of the local athletic trainers and has been extensively involved in the sports medicine scene in Central Florida. He serves as team physicians for Cirque du Soleil, La Nouba, WWE, Seminole State College and many local high schools and youth sports groups.

Dr. Schwartzberg is also the Director of Sports Medicine Education for the Orlando Health orthopedic surgery residency program and is on the clinical faculty for the UCF College of Medicine.

He has published literature in Orthopaedics and sports medicine and develops and conducts research in this area as well.
