Making Memories One Touchdown at a Time: Local Kids Attend Pro Bowl
The Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation sent 25 kids from the Taft Boys & Girls Club to this year’s Pro Bowl as part of the Foundation’s Give Kids Sports initiative.
“We’ve supported the Boys & Girls Club in the past, and we’ve provided access to sports and summer camps for them,” says Kevin Joyce, Executive Director of Orlando Orthopaedic Center. “And with the Pro Bowl in town, we thought it was an exciting opportunity to give these young kids an experience that they may never have again.”
The Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group founded by Randy S. Schwartzberg, M.D. and his physician partners at Orlando Orthopaedic Center.
The Foundation’s Give Kids Sports initiative helps Central Florida youth improve lives, strengthen relationships, and produce more active and engaged adults throughout the community by providing access and opportunities to participate in organized sports. In the past 4 years, the Foundation has sent more than 800 kids in need to youth sports camps throughout Central Florida.
Since beginning its mission in 2012, the Foundation has raised $1.3 million towards its two primary objectives: to provide injury prevention education and to help underserved children participate in quality youth sports programs that foster sportsmanship, confidence, discipline, and teamwork.
