Course Description
This program focuses on evidence based practices for use of the latest technology and surgical procedures used to treat orthopaedic conditions and injuries associated with musculoskeletal trauma of the hip. Surgical techniques for hip arthroscopy specifically for a hip acetabular labrum repair and an iliopsoas tendon lengthening will be presented and discussed in a live setting. It also includes an in-depth look at the pre and post patient preparation, surgical equipment and related anatomy for a hip arthroscopy patient. Program content is designed to assist healthcare providers with acquiring the skills and knowledge to provide quality care, management and to improve patient outcomes with hip pathologies.
Educational Objectives
- Participants will be able to identify and discuss common hip injury pathologies and the related anatomy in patients that can be addressed with arthroscopic measures.
- Participants will be able to discuss and describe operative techniques of the hip to address these pathologies.
- Participants will be able to identify surgical tools and equipment required for hip arthroscopy.
- Participants will be able to describe the pre and post patient preparation and protocols required for hip arthroscopy.
- Participants will be able implement and enhance clinical knowledge and skills of orthopaedic injury evaluation to improve patient outcomes.
