Educational Overview
Course Description
This program focuses on evidence-based practices for use of the latest technology and surgical procedures used to treat orthopaedic conditions associated with musculoskeletal trauma of the wrist, spine, hip, and knee. It includes a brief overview of the related anatomy, as well as rehabilitation considerations for non-operative treatment options and post-surgical therapy protocols. Interesting and unique cases seen by providers at an orthopaedic walk-in clinic will be presented. This course discusses the prevention and management of lumbar spine injuries in the workplace. Program content is designed to assist healthcare providers with acquiring the skills and knowledge to provide quality care and improve patient outcomes.

The material covered by the 2022 18 th Annual Orthopaedic Update Conference includes domains 1, 2, and 4 of the BOC Role Delineation/Practice Analysis, 7th edition (Injury and Illness Prevention and Wellness Promotion, Examination, Assessment and Diagnosis and Therapeutic Intervention). According to the education levels described by the Professional Development Committee of the NATA, the following continuing education course is considered to be Essential and/or Advanced Level to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants.
